Current and alumni athletes from µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø’s baseball and softball teams competed against each other in alumni games on Saturday, Oct. 26.
Twenty-one alumni softball players participated in the first-ever alumni softball game, falling to the current µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø softball team 9-0. Softball Coach Guy Wilkins said he appreciated the participation from all players at the game.
“It was a great day,” he said, “and I loved seeing all the past players and families.”
Mikayla (Steele) Scott, a graduate of the nursing program at the Owens Campus, played softball for µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø in 2014, the earliest represented year.
In the baseball game, 20 alumni players suffered a 15-6 loss to the current µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø baseball team.
“It was so great to see all of the former players and coaches,” said Stu Madden, baseball coach. “So many people who have had a big impact on the success of the program came out and participated. Coach Brock and a number of his former players, along with quite a few of my former players, made it a special day.”
