Nurse Educator Update Focuses on Preparing Future Nurses for Practice

In partnership with Bayhealth, µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍønical Community College hosted the Nurse Educator Update, which drew 200 nursing professionals and vendors from across Delaware and the tri-state area to the Del-One Conference Center on the Terry Campus in Dover.
This year's Nurse Educator Update focused on the theme, "From Learning to Doing: Preparing Tomorrow's Nurses for Practice." The keynote speaker for the June 4 event was Dr. Patricia Benner, who was named a Living Legend by the American Academy of Nursing in 2011. She joined the conference via Zoom to discuss learning from practice and theory.
Conference presentations included:
- "Seeing the Unseen: Trauma-Informed Nursing Responses to Abuse and Trafficking," presented by Sarah Peluso
- "Restoring the Nurse Educator," presented by Beth Cusatis Phillips
- "Let's Have a Blunt Conversation About THC, Rhino Tranq and Other Illicit Substances," presented by William J. Lynch Jr.
- "Scaffolding Simulation Experiences: Building Clinical Judgment From Novice to Practice-Ready," presented by Diane Bradley, Daniel Cahall, and Deborah Lord
