Softball Finishes Second at Regional Tournament, Advances to District Tournament

The µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍønical Community College softball team has advanced to the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Atlantic A & B District Tournament after finishing as runner-up at the NJCAA Region 19 Division II Playoffs.

For the District Tournament, µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø will host Louisburg College in a best-of-three series at the softball field on the Jack F. Owens Campus in Georgetown. The teams will play a double header on Friday, May 9, starting at 3 p.m. If necessary, a third game will be played Saturday, May 10, at noon.

In the Region Tournament, which was played May 2 & 3 at Mercer County Community College, µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø went 3-2 overall. On the first day, µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø opened play with a 10-4 win over Salem Community College and then lost 9-5 to Mercer County. On day two, the team defeated Lackawanna College 11-3 in five innings, beat Mercer County 5-4 in eight innings, and then lost a final game to Mercer County, 9-2.

µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø pitcher Kylee Hill went 3-0 in the circle for the weekend, and she went 6 for 16 at the plate with two home runs and eight RBIs.

Other offensive highlights came from Zoey Coco (8 for 19 with four runs scored and six RBIs), Gabby Pepper (6 for 10 with two runs scored), and Cheyenne Silves (6 for 14 with three runs scored and 3 RBIs).
