Softball Wins District Championship, Earns Spot in World Series

The µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍønical Community College softball team has earned a spot in the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Softball World Series after winning the Atlantic B District Tournament on May 10. This is the fourth time in the past five seasons that µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø has advanced to the national championship tournament.
The World Series will be played May 19-24 in Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Alabama. A field of 20 teams, comprised of 16 district champions and four at-large selections, will play in the double-elimination tournament.
µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø, which earned a 19 seed in the World Series, will open the tournament against 14 seed Black Hawk College (Illinois). The game will be played Monday, May 19, at 2 p.m. local time.
In the District Tournament, µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø swept a double-header against Louisburg College to win the best-of-three series that was played on the College’s Jack F. Owens Campus in Georgetown. µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø won the first game 4-3 and won the second game 4-2.
Kylee Hill picked up the win in the opener, striking out ten and allowing five hits. At the plate, Brooklyn Richardson went 2 for 3 and had an RBI.
Mara Everton pitched the second game, striking out six and allowing four hits. On offense, Madison Fox went 2 for 3, and Kylee Hill picked up a hit and recorded two RBIs.
