Academic Counselor (Veterans and Service Members)
Dr. Coverdale is a counselor assisting veterans and service members in the µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø community. Although she did not serve in the military, she has several family members who have served in the Army, National Guard, and Navy. She also has friends in the Air Force and Air Force Reserves, having grown up near the Air Force Base in Dover, Delaware.
Educational Background: "I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Delaware State University, a certificate of Drug and Alcohol Counseling from µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø, a Master’s degree in the Administration of Human Services from Wilmington University, and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership also from Wilmington University."
Q: Why was it important for you to work at µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø?
"I loved being an adjunct instructor and the higher education environment. I decided that I wanted to use my background in Human Services to help a different population."
Q: What do you like the most about working with student-veterans?
"I like the unique experiences they bring to the campus."
Q: What are some of your favorite moments working at µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø thus far?
"My favorite moments are the ones where students come in feeling nervous about their decision to attend college and leave feeling confident about it."
